How to get to and from the City and the Airport
The Baltimore Washington International Airport is 10 miles, or 16 kilometres, south of downtown Baltimore. Taxis are freely available with the ride between the Airport and the City being around 20 minutes, depending on the time of day and the state of the traffic. The taxi fare is usually between $15 and $20 (US dollars). The BWI Super Shuttle also provides services, this usually takes a little longer, about half an hour depending on the number of hotels to be called at. The Shuttle covers all the downtown hotels and will drop you or pick you up at the door. The cost for this service is $10 (US dollars). A train service is also available, MARC (Amtrak and Maryland Area Rail Commuter) which operates from the airport station which is close by.
How to get around in Baltimore
For tourists the recommended forms of transport are the trams and the boat cruises. These are interesting and enjoyable and are a top way of seeing the City. For those on the move taxis are an efficient and easy to arrange transportation means, and relatively inexpensive. There's also the MARC (Amtrak and Maryland Area Rail Commuter) which provides frequent train services to most parts of Baltimore.
